SOX Control Specialist 5-10 Year exp level no managers please

Job Description:

The ideal candidate possesses excellent time management and organization skills and is a self-starter, able to work independently with little reliance on supervisory direction and instruction. Technical writing skills are critical and the candidate must be a proven leader with training experience a plus. Assertiveness and the ability to utilize positive influence in difficult situations are a must. The position may require 5-10% travel, including international

Job responsibilities include:

• Process design/reengineering
• Process documentation/flowcharting
• Control matrix preparation
• Perform walkthroughs
• Development of SOX audit programs
• Perform SOX compliance testing
• Perform control gap analysis and develop remediation plans with Process Owners and provide follow up to ensure implementation has occurred
• Identification and communication of internal control deficiencies
• Training Facilitation/public speaking

Job Qualification (Education, certifications, experience)
• A bachelor’s degree in accounting or other related disciplines required
• A CPA or CIA designation or has taken and passed parts of the CPA/CIA exam
• Minimum 2 to 3 years of related experience in public accounting and/or internal audit, with at least 2 years most recent experience in SOX 404 compliance

Other skills required
• Collaborative self – starter and have the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Strong communication skills ( written, verbal and presentation)
• Interpersonal skills at all organizational level and ability to positively influence others
• Leadership, teamwork, people management
• Ability to prioritize, multi – task and maintain flexibility in a fast paced environment
• Proficiency in MS office required
• Strong skills in problem solving and decision making
• Exceptional analytical capabilities
