SOX Controller/Project Manager required - Sydney, Australia 858

  • Outstanding opportunity for a talented Compliance/Project Manager to take a leading role in one of Australia’s premier banks. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing the transition of the SOX Program into BAU, and planning, coordinating and executing the annual SOX Program of work across the processes owned by that business unit.

    Major accoutabilities:

    Liaise with Group Assurance, Group Risk and central SOX teams regarding:
    Top Down Analysis - ensure BU finance resources complete appropriate SOX financial analysis.
    Process/Risk/Controls documentation and confirmation.
    IT Controls Assessment
    Control Self Assesment/Monitoring
    Outsourcer Governance and Outsourced Control testing
    Group Assurance DE and OE Testing.
    Manage and coordinate the SOX program of work across the processes owned by the Business Unit:
    Maintain and drive project plan for the annual calendar of SOX activities.
    Report to the BU CFO the SOX status for the processes owned by the business unit.
    Perform Process and Control owner monitoring and reporting,
    Coordinate, monitor and report on SOX remediation initiatives.
    Manage interaction with other major compliance and change programmes, as they impact SOX significant processes.
    Support and monitor performance of BU Process and Control Owner SOX responsibilities:
    Improve control awareness within the BU through continuous communications with Process and Control Owners.
    Organise and (where necessary) deliver training programs to relevant BU personnel, including Process Owners and Control Owners.
    To succeed in this role it is anticipated that the successful applicant will have significant experience of:

    Internal Controls and Risk Management
    Business Engagement/Stakeholder Management.
    Project Management.
