People Soft Projects 2599

  • Hello,
I am new to working with PeopleSoft and had a few questions:

    1. Are changes to the ‘programming’ in peoplesoft called projects
      and
    2. what is the best way to track when changes were made by the administrators and where is this info kept - in the database?
      Thanks in advance,
      Hobbs

    1. Are changes to the ‘programming’ in peoplesoft called projects
Yes - Projects would probably indicate a change in code or approach. For example, workflow changes even without programming might be a special project for the business area. Certainly tailoring the system with special reports or customizations could be considered a project.
    2. what is the best way to track when changes were made by the administrators and where is this info kept - in the database?
You might research a Change Management System … Even email addressed to applicable groups indicating changes are being made or have been made can provide a historical record of change as long as they are done in a standard manner. Change Management Systems work great in setting up workflows, autonomy levels, and documentation.
Example of JIRA, which we use for issue management and it provides some change management notification capabilities also … There are many other good products out there as well.
