    Location: Anywhere in Europe

    Our Client is a Fortune 1000 company with sales of USD1.0 billion and assets of USD1.5 billion.
    SUMMARY:
    Manages the Internal Audit Department and leads the ongoing Sarbanes-Oxley compliance effort for the Corporation all over the world.
    Reports to the Executive VP of Finance.
    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Plan, develop, recommend and lead the implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance for Company, as well as the corporate finance and control functions. Meet bi-weekly with the governance committee for status updates, coordination and planning. Meet quarterly with the Audit Committee to inform and confirm direction, execution and pace. Meet monthly with the outside audit firm for review, coordination and concurrence.
    Plan, develop, recommend and lead the monitoring of the business control environment, the financial reporting systems and procedures and the information technology systems and procedures. Client has twelve major facilities and approximately twenty lesser-sized facilities. Supervise the Internal Audit staff for operational audits; financial audits, including support of the outside auditors; and IT audits for general controls and specific application procedures and controls. Attend exit conferences of approximately twenty operational audits conducted each year. Present at least twice annually to the Audit Committee, the audit planning and any significant issues. Meet in executive session with the Audit Committee at least twice annually or more as needed.
    Provide input to the Corporate Controller’s Policy manual; maintain excellent working knowledge of the manual, company-wide systems, procedures and controls. Maintain current working knowledge of the accounting regulatory/guidance literature.
    Plan, coordinate and manage the annual outside audit of Employee Benefit Plans and attendant filings.
    Supervise, train, develop and lead internal audit activities.
    Participate as a team member in due diligence of merger and acquisition efforts or audits of major debtors or vendors, as needed.
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    -Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. CPA required. Recent public accounting experience strongly desired (big four preferred).
    -Seven years’ business experience preferred, ideally in a combination of public accounting and on accounting staff of a large, publicly owned company.
    -Auditing experience a must. Should have recent experience with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance in industry or public accounting or both.
    -Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at the most senior executive level.
    -This job requires the highest degree of professionalism and the ability to handle confidential and insider information with regularity.
    -Significant travel involved (all over the world).
    -Need to be fluent in English and at least one other language, preferably Spanish or German.
