While going through this forum I collected a list of acronyms that I did not immediately recognize. I hope that the following are accurate and helpful for others. I think I know what SAP is but I hope someone can provide that definition.

SAP - This is often used to identify business enterprise software manufactured by the company with the same name:
sap.com/usa/index.epx
Otherwise, it might be used as an acronym for Security Access Profile…the security privileges assigned to a computer user.

SAP is a German acronym (Systemanalyse und Programmentwicklung) which could roughly translated as Systems and Application Products. The vendor of the SAP ERP is SAP AG which is a German company.
