Size of SOX PMO department (in terms of personnel) 2632

    I am trying to get an idea of the size of the general SOX PMO offices in terms of number of employees. If you could provide the following information, it would be really helpful to me.
    Annual revenues of the company:
    Number of personnel in SOX PMO:
    Does the SOX office perform testing or outsource it to Internal audit or a 3rd party:
    Software used, if any:

  • Revenues are 4B. We have two FT personnel with respect to SOX. We team with Internal Audit to perform testing of business controls and ITGC testing and perform testing within our team of 2 as well as outsource some of the testing in the tune of about 40k a year. All our facilities are located in North America (US, Canada, Mexico). We use Policy IQ to manage our SOX Risks, Controls, and Tests
    From my previous experience it is best to try to integrate your SOX testing into your audits to keep cost down as well as using a top down risk based approach in your scoping.

    3 full time Sox compliance team personnel
    Internal Audit performs Sox testing at the direction of the compliance team.
    We use Excel and Microsoft Sharepoint in lieu of a compliance application.

  • Revenues of USD11B
    No FT SOX personnel
    SOX steering Committee consists of Controller, Asst Controller, Tax VP, Shared Services Director, HR VP, IT VP and 2 managers assigned to oversee SOX testing.
    Steering committee meets 4-6 times per year to get updates on testing status.
    Most controls testing is peer testing with Internal Audit QA reviews of selected high-risk areas.
    We have decentralized accounting processes.
    No SOX applications. We use MS Word and Excel.
