How can I gain entry to SOX consulting? 673

What is the best way to go coming from the IT world? Is there any particular training that will lead there?
-
If I were you, I’d get my CISSM certification.
Perform a search on the Net for CISSM and the details should come up.
Best of success to you.

I did a search on monster for CISSM and didn’t find any.

I don’t know if this is what he meant, but here here a training course.

I am looking for help on our current set of projects. I have been involved in six IT 404 Compliance projects. Our workload is getting to be too much and I would be interested in bringing on some additional people. Please contact me and I can see if we can work out an arrangement. send email to: info_at_tigeros.com

I have seen CISA and CIA mentioned. Which is the easier one?
-
CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor , isaca.org) is easier, more international and better to find a job.
CIA (Certified Internal Auditor, theiia.org) is an excellent certification but very difficult.

If you are considering entering the SoX market from an IT background then I would strongly recommend that you pursue the CIA qualification. CISA gives you insuffecient knowledge in terms of the auditing knowledge required. Even if you are only involved in General Computer Control reviews, you should have a sound knowledge of business processes, auditing, limited accounting knowledge and a solid understanding of internal control. CISA does not give this grounding. However, I would recommend that you first write CISA and then pursue the CIA qualification (threreby excempting you from CIA - part 4). Hope this helps.
